Updated: Apr 19

Here's to making dreams come true

Did you know it's very possible for you to turn your dreams into reality? - its called manifestation!

Manifestation is a great strategy to turn your goals into reality. Regardless of your goals, whether that is to travel more or simply be more patient, a vision board board is a great tool to have during your journey.

However, it's important to be aware that it is not something that happens overnight, you have to put in the work and by work, I mean you have to set intention, believe that it will become reality then take active steps towards making your idea become your reality.

So what exactly is a vision board?

A vision board is a visual representation of your goals. These representations are usually poster-sized visuals that contain all kinds of images and text that represents something you are trying to accomplish.

its about crafting something that will inspire you to realise your dreams and goals daily.

Does a vision board work?

There is a lot of research that supports the fact that vision board works. it is said that visualisation increase motivation and confidence.

What are the steps to creating your vision board?

1. Take a moment of self reflection and find out what's most important to you. Are there parts of your life that you want to change? - focus on the words that these areas bring to mind. Then, decide if your vision board should represent short-term or long-term change.

2. Get your images. You can look through magazines or online for visual representations of your goals. For example, if you want to improve your kitchen, you'd get a picture of a home that inspires you.

3. To make your vision board work, be sure to ensure that any words you use are short and the images are vivid, attractive and glossy. This will make your vision board regularly catch your eyes. Then put it somewhere you can see it, a place that's in your regular line of sight because the key is to look at it as often as possible.

Don't be afraid to make updates

Though we have concluded that a vision board is a wonderful tool to help you achieve your goals, you can't just sit back and expect it to magically turn your goals into reality.

You have to believe and take action. Take things off, add things on, start over. Try and also be open to variations, for example, if your goal is to go vegan, but you realise you're more of a vegetarian, don't beat yourself up.

Pro tip

If you're not comfortable making a statement with your vision board, you can create a smaller version. You can cut your poster board in half or use the largest photo frame you have on the board.
